Whether you’re thinking about potty training, in the process or are celebrating his/her accomplishment, let’s be honest… Potty Training isn’t always easy! However, it is a major milestone in every child’s life that should be celebrated. That’s why I am happy to announce that I am participating in the “Madrinas del Baño” campaign, because Pull-Ups brand believes that every try deserves a little celebration. By now, you know I am all about celebrating!

While my son is potty trained, I still find that I need to remind him of a few things every now and then. It’s a good thing I have mommies around me that can give me the support and the advice I need. Here are some tips they shared with me that I thought were great, so I wanted to share them with you (Thanks Brittany & Sharon).

  • Each child is unique and the experience will not look exactly the same for each child. So don’t compare.
  • Make sure you child is really ready, and so are you.
  • Pay attention to when a child starts staying dry overnight, it’s a good indication of readiness.
  • Be patient and have fun things to do in the bathroom to keep them entertained; they may be there a while (flash cards, books)
  • Give lots of praise for successes and don’t be harsh when accidents happen.
  • Potty training is a bodily skill, not a character trait. It’s okay if it takes longer than you thought.
  • Motivation is the key (potty song/dance, treat, sticker).
