I am the proud mom of 2 amazing children and as I see them develop interests and become more independent in their activities, I only hope that I can be a source of support for them as my mom was for me. Growing up, my mom was always there for me. If I was in a show, I could scan the audience and there she would be. If I had a test, we would be practicing together in the bathroom that morning while she did her hair and makeup. While I was in color guard she volunteered her time, drove my friends and I to and from practice and was at every competition and/or game. The list goes on and on. Even today, I know that she will always be there for me, helping me through any of my adventures.
(LOVE YOU MUMA!!!!)
Whether it’s a ballet recital, a home run or the London 2012 Olympic Games, moms play a vital role in all of our winning moments. As moms, we are our children’s biggest fans and supporters and although being a mom can at most times feel like the hardest job in the world, it is without a doubt also the best!!
Here are some tips on how you can support your kids:
- Give lots of hugs & kisses and be supportive to help your kids succeed in anything.
- If you have to work 3 jobs to support your kids to achieve their dreams, do it!
- Keep them focused by instilling the importance of education.
- Support your children whether they win or lose because there is always another day, chance.
- Your kids should be encouraged to finish what the start and to give it all they have.
- No matter what your child’s gender is, when it comes to sports everyone is equal.
- Let your child know that with effort and discipline everything can be achieved.
