I love hosting events at my house and even more so over the holidays but between busy schedules, cleaning and prepping the house, not to mention preparing all the food, hosting an event can be overwhelming. But you know what? It doesn’t have to be…I have seen the light.
When we offered to host an Ugly Christmas sweater party for our church grow group and the opportunity came about to partner with Giraffas and have them cater our event, I immediately felt relieved. Especially because I knew I’d be busy and traveling the week before. By having it catered, not only would we enjoy a great meal but I wouldn’t have to stress myself out to make that happen. I didn’t have to go shopping for food, drinks, cups or cutlery at the store…they took care of it. I didn’t have to prepare the food because they would do it and even deliver it.
All I had to do was meet with 1 of the staff and choose our menu for the evening. While they had plenty of options, we opted for Contra Filet, Chicken Breast Filet, White Rice, Black Beans, Sweet Plantains, Mixed Greens Salad, Organic Quinoa Salad and Pao de Queijo.
The day of the party, I was going crazy cleaning the house and getting everything ready. In fact, I was doing just that when Giraffas arrived with the food and set it all up for me. I didn’t have to do a thing other than write menu item signs to make it easier for the guests to know what everything was. Considering all I had going on, I can’t imagine how much more stressed I would have been had I also needed to prepare the food that day. It was truly a blessing.
When it came time to eat everyone loved the food.
I won’t say who, but there were even a few people that got back into the food line to get seconds before some had even served themselves their first plate of food. It was that good!
After everyone had left and we began to put away the leftovers, I walked into the kitchen and despite the fact that my feet hurt and I was tired, seeing that the kitchen was still clean brought a smile to my face. When I’ve cooked for parties in the past, my kitchen would be a wreck (a mess on the stove and counters and the sink would be full of dirty dishes, pots and pans that I never have the energy to clean) but not this time.
If you’re hosting an event for the holidays or anytime for that matter, you should definitely consider having it catered by Giraffas. The customer service is really good, the pricing is fair and the food is delicious!!!
