While in LA this past November I was able to screen the 1st episode of the new TV mini series, Galavant.
Not only did I get the chance to chat with Executive Producer Dan Fogelman, Alan Menken (composer) & Glenn Slater (lyricist), I was also able meet and interview Joshua Sasse, Galavant.
Here are 5 Reasons To Watch Galavant
It’s a Mini Series
It’s only on for 4 weeks. The eight episode series will run two episodes in the one-hour block each Sunday in January on ABC!
It’s both a Romantic comedy and a musical
The songs are creatively written and funny! Thankfully, the cast has amazing voices.
Celebrity Cameos
John Stamos, Ricky Gervais, Weird Al Yankovic will all be making Cameos on Galavant.
Galavant is not bad to look at for an hour
Joshua Sasse is not only handsome on the TV screen, he is also dreamy in person. Bonus: I believe you get to see him with his shirt off.
I should also mention that he is super sweet, he’s got an English accent and he can sing!
*I love you Bubba Bear (my husband)
You can watch it with your family
While there are some adult innuendos & some romantic interludes, I think they will go over your child’s head. I know the writers were mindful of that. My kiddos have been cracking up at the previews.
Galavant Synopsis
Screenwriter/executive producer Dan Fogelman unites with Broadway and Hollywood award-winning musical team—composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater for a highly-anticipated comedy extravaganza. Once upon a time, the dashing hero, Galavant (Joshua Sasse), lost the love of his life, Madalena (Mallory Jansen), to the evil King Richard (Timothy Omundson). Now, our fallen hero is ready to take revenge and restore his “happily ever after.” But it won’t be without a few twists and turns along the way.
“Galavant” will premiere tonight (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) with two 30 minute episodes, back-to-back on the ABC Television Network.
Drats!! I am always, and I mean always, a day late and/or a dollar short! I missed it, twice! Hopefully they will rerun them so I can catch up. This sounds like a show right up my alley. And like you said, Galavant is easy on the eyes!
