Zoe Saldana is fierce! Not only because of the roles she plays on screen but because in addition to being a beautiful Latina, she is smart, she is a loving mom and can definitely handle her own on screen and off. In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, she reprises her role as Gamora and shared that “it’s still like a dude’s movie where he’s (James Gunn), inviting women to come and kick dudes’ a**es. So, I signed up.” – See! FIERCE!!!

In full costume (green skin and all…which by the way does not come off easily), she sat down with us after filming a scene to share some thoughts on the film, working with Chris Pratt, fitness and balancing her role as an actor, mom and wife.

Here is what else Zoe Saldana had to say…

***She is doing a lot more stunts in this movie

***Chris Pratt and her have a good relationship. Their chats usually deal with being parents to boys, traveling as a family for work, fitness and good bottles of wine. They never run out of things to talk about.

***Advice for balancing being a mom, wife and working: “Talk, talk about everything, no assumptions, no reserved feelings, just last night, and I love sharing this because I know this is routine good and insightful sources where people can get information and feel identified through everybody’s, all of our similarities when it comes to, you know, just the challenges that we face, trying to live in one world where we get to have it all… — just last night, Mike goes like okay, I understand we’re super busy, let’s practice still connecting, conversations. I don’t care what we’re talking about. If you’re in the bathroom while I’m in the shower, let’s freaking just share five things…”

***Her thoughts on women and fitness: “I think that women, we need to be a little more physical. It’s better for our health. It helps our sanity, too.”

***On being a female hero: “…I know I was a little girl starving to have more female heroes, you know? And I held on to the very few that were out there and then I just had to become one because that’s what we do for our little girls, you know? ”

I know that without a picture, there is no proof that we chatted with Zoe Saldana but it actually happened (so you’ll have to take my word for it…lol). Had it not been for her costume and some other technical stuff I don’t understand, we would have totally gotten a photo with her.

Be sure to check back in each day this week for what it was like to be on the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Set and interviews with Chris Pratt (“Peter Quill”), Dave Bautista (“Drax”), Michael Rooker (“Yondu”), Karen Gillan (“Nebula”) and Director James Gunn.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters May 5th!
