Excited. Nervous. Freaked Out. All of those words can be used to describe what I was feeling about interviewing Dwayne Johnson (a.k.a. “The Rock”). After all, meeting him was on my bucket list. Thankfully, my friend Jana gave up her spot up front so that I could be next to him during the interview. Otherwise, I don’t think we would have been able to share the moment we did…you know, making “The Rock” sweat.

I tend to speak with my hands and didn’t realize I was doing just that when I commented about the movement of his pecs being done by Maui (like what he does). I apparently demonstrated the motion of pecs going up and down without even realizing it. After seeing me do that he smiled and said “Yes, please continue”. I then realize what I had done and begin to laugh (and blush).

Dwayne then repeated what I had done and laughs. Of course, at this point we are all laughing. The room suddenly felt hot for me and I believe I may have also put my head down in an effort to hide how red my face was. I say, “It’s hot…I didn’t notice I was doing that at all” to which he responded with “It made me hot”

He went on to answer a couple of questions and then he said “…you have me sweating after that thing”. I respond with “you have me sweating”. He said he was trying to keep it cool and then goes to get a napkin (to wipe his sweat) and places his hand on my shoulder as he does. *At that point, I may have turned another shade of red and vowed to never wash my shoulder again.

Dwayne comes back to the table with a napkin and must have noticed how hot I looked and handed it to me asking if I needed the napkin. I accepted his gift and he went back to get one for himself. *He’s such a gentleman

“I’m literally sweating” to which I respond “well now you know how we feel…welcome to our world” and he laughed. He finishes off by saying “We have bonded now”.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and I bonded (he’s the one that said it)!!!!!

…but wait, there’s more!

The next day, I received an Instagram notification because my friend asked me a if I was in a pic on The Rock’s Instagram feed. Sure enough, it was me. Not only was it a pic of our interview but he said that I (not by name) had made him sweat and blush.

Being able to scratch 2 (Vin Diesel, Ellen DeGeneres) off my list so far is still unbelievable but meeting and sharing a “bonding moment” with Dwayne Johnson (a.k.a. “The Rock”) is totally awesome!

You can check out my interview with Dwayne Johnson and I here. Moana sails into theaters on 11/23 and it is a must see (you can check my review here)
