The moment my husband saw the previews for Dolittle movie, he told me he wanted to watch it when it came out in theaters. Given the previous versions of this character on screen, I wasn’t too intrigued…well, until I watched the preview myself. It looked like a lot of fun and I wanted to see what Robert Downey Jr. would do with this character. Thankfully, the Dolittle movie lived up to our expectations and did not disappoint.
Dolittle has action, comedy and heart. Oh, and some really cute animals. It takes you on a wild adventure, one that captures the attention of the kiddos and keeps the parents engaged. It truly is a film that the whole family will enjoy!
The movie provided a good reminder to us all that fear and sadness should not stop you from making the most out of your life and that families come in all different shapes and sizes.
Robert Downey Jr. did a great job with the his Dolittle character. But if I had to choose my favorite character, it was the squirrel. His one liners spoke to me (probably because some of them are ones that I have said). Some of what he said, made my list of 21 Inspiring and Funny Dolittle Quotes.
As a parent, I also loved that I didn’t have to worry about the kiddos being exposed to inappropriate language or any sexual scenes. All in all it was a wonderful film!
