Stepping into Sanaa located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge during my Monkey Kingdom Press Trip reminded me of my time in India. While the decor is Africa inspired, the food is a blend of both Africa & India and that is what made me think about it (and made me miss it).

Lunch at Sanaa included a set menu (since we were part of a ress trip) that started us off with Indian-style bread service with a vast variety of accompaniments to dip it in: Red Chile Sambal, Cucumber Raita, Coriander Chutney, Mango Chutney, Coconut Chutney, Garlic Pickle, Spicy Jalapeño-Lime Pickle, Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus, or Tamarind Chutney.

Next they served refreshing salads: Chickpeas with Cucumber and Tomato; Watermelon, Cucumber and Fennel. (Sorry…my table dug into it before I could snap the picture, LOL)

Followed by slow-cooked meats: Beef short ribs & butter chicken. Served with Basmati Rice

Last but not least, we were treated to 3 of their decadent desserts!! We were given Tanzanian Chocolate Mousse, Banana Cheesecake and seasonal Kulfi.

The cozy Sanaa Lounge also offers appetizers AND African wines, beers and signature cocktails for you to enjoy.

Even if you are a picky eater (like I am), you’ll find something you’ll enjoy eating. Worse case, let your family enjoy the authentic dishes and you can choose something from the Kids Menu, LOL. The kids menu includes: beef burgers, pizza and grilled chicken

Yes, the food is amazing but the best part is the view from the restaurant of Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Sunset Savanna! As you dine you can enjoy the ever-changing scenery of African animals as they roam about.
