Father’s Day is almost upon us and when I take the time to think about the “Dads” in my life, I am thankful to have so many that rock! Men who love their families, do all they can to provide for them financially and provide support and comfort when needed. Dads like my dad, uncles and my wonderful husband!
As a mom, I am thankful that my kiddos have an amazing father who truly loves them, cares for them, plays with them and does all that he can to provide for them (and me) emotionally and financially. They are blessed!
He works long hours and yet still finds the time to snuggle with them and pray with them before bed every night. With as much as he does, I know that whether or not he is doing a good enough job as a dad still crosses his mind. However, I’m positive that he is not the only dad to think or feel that way.
It’s no surprise to me given that these days, the demands and pressures of everyday life are very high. Keeping up with a job, a home and everything else that goes on in life can leave dads (and us moms) feeling imperfect – like we can’t be the mom or dad we want to be. But the truth is, most parents are doing much better than we think.
Don’t believe me? Need proof? Check out this “Doin’ Good” video that includes parents responding to the question, “Do you feel like you are doing a good job?”. You’ll see that most parents didn’t feel they were living up to their own expectations. After the interviews, the producers shared emotional letters written by their kids that clearly demonstrated that they ARE doing a great job as parents. The video is a powerful reminder of what’s truly important!!!
Dad’s you’re doing an awesome job and it doesn’t go unnoticed!!! Dads You Rock!!! (and so do us moms)
