The 2017 D23 Expo did not disappoint! One of my favorite things about the expo is finding out all the deets about upcoming projects, celebrity sightings and seeing fans dressed up. Check out my D23 Expo Recap and Highlights below.

This has to be one of my favorite celebrity selfies…

This one was my favorite costume…

D23 Expo Fan Dressed up

Did you watch the Movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2? In the film, Yondu says “I am Mary Poppins, y’all” – this costume is so creative!

The D23 Expo also had incredible panels, some of which I have already shared with you:

I was also able to enjoy the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony and the Alan Menken concert. More about those…

Disney Legends Awards Ceremony

Getting to see Oprah Winfrey, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Stan Lee, Julie Taymor, Whoopi Goldberg ad others was a true honor. Not only because most were on hand to receive their awards but also because we were able to gain better insight into their work and why they were selected to be a Disney Legend.

Alan Menken concert

Some of my favorite Disney film songs came from Alan Menken’s creative mind so to get to see him perform pieces of them live at the D23 Expo and hearing the stories that go along with some of them was a real treat! I can’t wait to see what him and Lin-Manuel come up with the live-action film, The Little Mermaid.

In addition to the panels, there is also an expo floor you can walk around where you can do some fun videos like the one I did jumping into Scrooge McDuck’s Money Bin and my Thor: Ragnarok D23 Video below.

You also get the chance to see various booths where  you can do things like buy some pins for pin trading and purchase some cool collectibles, like the ones founds at the Disney Music Emporium. At their booth, I received the Walt Disney Records The Legacy Collection: Robin Hood that I am hoping my kiddos will enjoy as much as I did.

There are also various exhibits like the ones from Walt Disney Archives exhibit “A Pirates Life For Me”. If you are a Pirates fan (whether from film, television, the Disney parks attraction the movie series or pirates themselves), their Pirates exhibit was pretty cool.

Are you a Disney fan? Have you considered signing up for the D23 Fan Club? It’s free but they also have other “levels” depending on how big of a fan you are.
