I was invited to attend a special bloggers event at Capitol Lighting in Boca Raton (1 of their 4 locations in Fl, they also have 4 stores in New Jersey). One of the reasons I love blogging is that it allows me to meet people, learn new things and go to places I may have otherwise never gone to. Capitol Lighting is an example of such a place because I would have ASSUMED that it would be way too expensive for me (and you know what the saying is on assuming anything). In this case, I would have been wrong and it hurts to write this because I am not a fan of admitting that I am wrong (just ask my husband).
Capitol Lighting offers comparative pricing (and the pricing is the same both in the stores and online) and they will even price match (110% Price Guarantee). They get that people want/need to save money so they offer promotions and online printable coupons on their website (Yay!). PLUS they also have a clearance section! Sounds good huh?
Capitol Lighting is family owned business and they just celebrated their 88th Birthday! The owners are down to earth and you can tell they love what they do and are continuously striving to get better; always looking for ways to connect with their customers (You can follow them on Facebook and Twitter, You can also check out their videos on YouTube).
They offer everything from contemporary sconces and modern chandeliers to table lamps, outdoor and energy-efficient lighting and light bulbs. (On a side note, every time I say, hear or read the word “Light Bulb”, I automatically think of the movie “Dispicable Me”…sorry, I’ve only seen that movie a hundred times). Actually, they have a pretty cool deal going on right now where you can get $10 worth of FREE light bulbs when you post an online review about your recent purchase with them.
Another one of my passions is giving back to the community so I was really impressed with Capitol’s Lighting’s Making Lives Brighter Campaign with Rob Van Winkle (a.k.a. Vanilla Ice – Is that song now in your head?) that runs through February 28, 2012,. If you bring in your old lighting to any Capitol Lighting showroom in the South Florida and New Jersey areas they will give you a tax receipt for it from Habitat for Humanity. They will then be repurposed in a Habitat for Humanity home or sold at one of their Re-Stores.
They also have a Bright Start Paid Training Program, which is a 4 week paid internship for 6-8 candidates, see what I am saying…they care!
Eric, the president, mentioned that using a dimmer could save money on your electricity bill (which of course caught my attention)…and it such an easy thing to do! A $20 dimmer pays for itself within a year. Maybe I can get them to share more info. with us all on how it saves us money.
Check them out by going to their store or online so you can see all of the cool things they have going on. I know they will be having a few events coming up that I will let you know about once I get the info.
I attended a blogger event where we were provided with a goodie bag (oh and I won the Mystery Prize Raffle…Yay!). No compensation or expectation was given to post about the event. Opinions are 100% my own (I wouldn’t have it any other way).
