There’s another Smurfs adventure for your family to enjoy because Smurfs: The Lost Village is now officially in theaters! Last weekend my family and I were invited to attend a pre-screening of the film and thankfully it was a movie that we all enjoyed (and even learned from).
The story of Smurfette has always been an intriguing one since she was created by Gargamel in order to trap the Smurfs but found her family with them instead. Because of her origin, finding her place hasn’t always been easy. I like the way Smurfs: The Lost Village used her story to reinforce some basic concepts of acceptance, labeling and finding the power and strength to overcome obstacles and self-doubt. Smurfs: The Lost Village reminded me that:
- Labels do not define us.
- We are not defined by who people think we are.
- It is not until we embrace who we are that we can truly become who we are supposed to be.
All of those lessons are also great topics for you and the kiddos to discuss after watching the movie. Smurfs: The Lost Village is officially in theaters and is good for the whole family to enjoy! Go and see it, it’s Smurftastic!!!
