With the Holidays, people tend to get so caught up in all that goes into preparing for it that we forget to slow down and savor it all..at least I do. Especially because I’ll be hosting Thanksgiving dinner at my house this year. Even though everyone contributes an item, I will be doing most of the cooking. While I enjoy cooking, I don’t want to spend ALL day in the kitchen when I can be spending that time with my family. They won’t remember what I cooked as much as what I did with them while they were there.
No Thanksgiving dinner is complete without an apple pie and a pumpkin pie (O.K. maybe some ice cream too) BUT I don’t want to spend the day before Thanksgiving baking pies! Yeah, it can be fun or even part of a tradition to do all the baking but like I said, I want quality time with my family. Plus, some people are simply not good at it or simply don’t have the time. That’s where it is nice being able to get a Marie Callenders Frozen Pie to save me time, without compromising taste.
My husband is a dessert fanatic so he was happy to give Marie Callender’s Dutch Apple Pie a try since we were given the opportunity to do so. It was so easy to prepare. Simply remove the apple pie from the plastic and place it on a cookie sheet and bake for 50 to 55 minutes at 400 degrees. Once you have done that, take it out the oven and crumble the topping onto the top of the pie and put it back in the oven for an additional 10 minutes. Told you…it’s really easy to do, even I didn’t mess it up.
If you’re not a fan of apple pie, there are numerous flavors to choose from (I personally am a big fan of pumpkin pie). For those of us who like to save money, there is a coupon available HERE that you can use (I did).
So this Thanksgiving Slow Down & Savor The Holidays…I plan to!
