Always on the hunt for new family adventures and hoping to visit each of the States (to cross that off my bucket list), I was super excited about being invited to check out Massanutten Resort in Virginia this summer. With my bag packed and an itinerary I could not wait to experience, I had no idea just how much fun awaited me. After a few days there, let me just say that Family Adventures Abound at Massanutten Resort. Having experienced these activities myself, I can say that they were super fun to do and I can not wait to bring my family there because I know they will love it!

Here are 3 family adventures you will not want to miss.

Family Adventure Park

While there are various things to do at the Family Adventure Park, we did the Canopy Tour. During the canopy tour, a 90-minute adventure through the forest, we experience a high rise adventure on the burma bridge, hanging vines, and four zip lines ranging from 90 feet to 470 feet long. It was my first time zip lining and it was INCREDIBLE!!!! Now I get to cross that off my bucket list as well. You can actually watch a short video of me Ziplining below.

The Petting Farm

This wasn’t the attraction I thought I would “love” but I did. Not only did I get to feed a goat and a horse, I fed a llama (which did not have the prettiest teeth and felt extremely weird on my hand) and I got to feed a baby cow a bottle. It was seriously such a great experience. (slideshow below).

The Waterpark (Indoor and Outdoor)

Because the waterpark has both an indoor and outdoor section, no matter what the season is you and your family can enjoy some water fun. The indoor park’s water is always heated to 84° Fahrenheit and offers various slides, a lazy river and hot tubs. it also has a FlowRider® Endless Wave that I was brave enough to try out (you can see how I did in the video).

The outdoor park (open Memorial through Labor Day weekend) features a wave pool and the Rockingham Racer head-first, downhill water slide. Tip: If you are doing the Rockingham Racer, keep your mouth closed. In all my yelling as I made my way down the slide, I drank a considerable amount of water. It was “No bueno” (not good).

Not a fan of the sun like me? They have cabanas available to rent that feature chairs, a power outlet and a safe. Need a break from water fun?, the waterpark also has an arcade (which is where my husband would have ended up had he been there too).

Video recap of my adventures

I’ll admit that prior to my invitation, I hadn’t heard of Massanutten Resort but now that I have been, it is a place I will never forget. It is also a place I would highly suggest you make it a point to visit with your family. No matter what you are into, there is something for everyone to enjoy. In addition to the activities I experienced above, you can also go golfing, enjoy the spa, mountain biking and more. More about my time there soon.
